Introduced to music by great masters like Ludovico Einaudi and Nicola Piovani, Federica Fornabaio started her career by composing film soundtracks. In 2011, she was shortlisted for best soundtrack composer at the Venice Film Festival and was a finalist Nastri d’Argento Awards. In 2014, Federica was nominated for an award at the BFI Festival in London for her soundtrack to ‘48Hours Film Project’ and, in 2016, she participated to ‘World Soundtrack Awards’ in Gent, Belgium, and the ‘Mise-En Music’ Festival in New York.

A Sony Classical artist, in 2018 Fornabaio released “Unpeaceful”, her latest album produced by Pasquale Minieri and recorded in the iconic ‘Abbey Road’ Studios of London with Grammy nominated producer Andy Walter. “Unpeaceful” features Fornabaio’s original compositions and one song selected especially for her by Japanese acclaimed composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Besides her career in classical and jazz music, Fornabaio had successful collaborations with ‘pop’ artists too. She conducted twice the San Remo Festival’s orchestra (she was the youngest conductor that ever made the San Remo stage) winning on both occasions the first prize with the songs performed by Marco Carta and Arisa. Federica also features in Roberto Vecchioni’s album 'Chiamami ancora amore’.

Musician appreciated by audiences and critics, since the first Jazzit Awards survey Angelo is constantly mentioned amongst the 10 best trumpeters in Europe and has had numerous recognitions by Top Jazz.

In 2004 he recorded the CD Oidé with the Oidé ensemble. The album, produced by the label Terre Sommerse, was mentioned as one of the more interesting Italian Jazz productions by the magazine M&D. Under the same label, he released the album Nadir with pianist Alessandro De Angelis (2006) and Echoes with Pasquale Innarella, Armando Battiston, William Parker and Hamid Drake (2007). In 2009, his CD CAOS Musique received incredible applause and was defined “a wonderful example of contemporary imagination and sensibility” (Aldo Gianolio - Musica Jazz). In 2009, Angelo Olivieri also recorded as co-leader with the quintet Harafè.

In 2012 he released three works: If Not - a tribute to Mario Schiano, CAOS Musique - live @ Casa del Jazz and Dialogo with the double bass player Silvia Bolognesi.

If Not was mentioned as one of the Best Releases of 2012 by the New York City Jazz Record.

In 2015 he formed his new quintet ZY and recorded the album Nowhere’s Anthem (JAZZIT Records). Together with ZY, he signed the soundtrack of the docu-film Qualcosa di noi by Wilma Labate. Since 2013 he is the director of the world music ensemble Med Free Orkestra.
