Italiensk-norsk jam

ANDREA MARCELLI: Drummer/composer born in Rome/Italy, has more than 200 of his compositions recorded in CDs and broadcasted world-wide. Two of his compositions are
included in «The European Real Book» and «The Digital Real Book part two» by www.shermusic.com. He moved to the USA in 1989 spending 8 years in Los Angeles and 4 in New York. He is, since 2001, resident in Berlin/Germany. During his career he performed all over Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, India, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tunisia, Lebanon and others.
He collaborated in different ways with Wayne Shorter, Don Menza, David Liebman, Bob Mintzer, Markus Stockhausen, Allan Holdsworth, Palle Danielsson, Arild Anderson, Eddie Gomez, Mike Stern, Mitchel Forman, Alex von Schlippenbach, Ekkehard Wölk, John Patitucci, Eberhard
Weber, Frank Gambale, Rick Margitza and many others. Andrea recorded many CDs and two acclaimed solo CDs for legendary Major Jazz Label VERVE/PolyGram with his original compositions. He graduated in 1986 from the L. Refice Conservatory in Frosinone in Classical Clarinet, Jazz Composition and Arrangement.
– Wayne Shorter wrote: «Andrea Marcelli’s music is as vibrant and thought-provoking as today’s events. Andrea is such a chameleon. When I first heard his music, it struck me that he played drums, clarinet, percussion, keyboards and composed in a variety of styles that defied
classification, moreover, his display of sensitivity and creative approach to the work produced.»

MORTEN HALLE: Norwegian Saxophonist and Composer, has played with a large number of Norwegian bands, and has also been active internationally with Jon Balkes Magnetic North Orchestra (1992-2002) and Geir Lysne (1999 to 2009). He has also worked as a producer for Sidsel Endresen, Solveig Slettahjell and «Come Shine». He has received the Norwegian states three year grant for artists both as a musician and a composer. Halle has also composed, performed and recorded music for a large number of films, theater and ballet productions. Halle has been associated with the Norwegian Academy of Music since the eighties. After spending four years as vice-principal for education and nine years as head of department for improvised music, jazz and traditional music at the Academy, from 2022, he is back as associate professor.

EYOLF DALE: Norwegian pianist and composer, is known for his successful collaborations with a great number of jazz artists, and renowned bands like Eyolf Dale’s Wolf Valley, Albatrosh, Daniel Herskedal, Hayden Powell Trio, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, and more. He has established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation and has performed all over Europe, as well in USA, Japan and China. Dale’s solo work showcases the mature lyrical
introspection that’s often associated with Norwegian jazz, but equally, there is an explorative curiosity and restless free elements that is becoming an emergent hallmark of the younger Nordic improvisers. He was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy equivalent,
Spellemannprisen both in 2013 and 2016 for his solo albums. With the duo previously named Albatrosh with reedman André Roligheten, he was awarded «Young jazz musicians of the year 2008» in the prestigious JazzIntro, and the duo was also awarded «Best Band» in European Jazz
Competition in 2010 (North Sea Jazz, Rotterdam)
