Orgelmeditasjoner i Nidarosdomen med Ismaele Gatti

Det er svært gledelig for oss å kunne, i samarbeid med Nidarosdomen, invitere til en orgelkonsert med maestro Ismaele Gatti nettopp i Norges nasjonalhelligdom, Nidarosdomen, som en vennskapsgest mellom Italia og Norge i forbindelse med Statsbesøket til Norge av Italias President Sergio Mattarella. 

Konserten utgjør en del av Nidarosdomens lørdagsserie med Orgelmeditasjoner, en gudstjeneste med lesing av en av helgens bibeltekster, bønn og velsignelse – ledsaget av orgelmusikk. Denne lørdagen blir det en utvidet utgave, og i tillegg til organist Ismaele Gatti, er kapellan Marie Farstad medvirkende. 

Orgelet som brukes for anledningen ble bygget, etter en brann, i 1741 av Joachim Wagner, regnet som en av tysk barokks store orgelbyggere. Wagnerorgelet er faktisk ett av få orgler i bruk idag i Vesteuropa som kan gjenskape en autentisk klang fra Johann Sebastian Bachs egen tid. Programmet, som er satt sammen av organist Gatti selv, for anledningen består derfor av komposisjoner av barokkomponistene far og sønn Bach.

Konserten er også et samarbeid med CIDIM (Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica) og Italias Ambassade.

Ismaele Gatti:
Ismaele Gatti was born in Como in 1998. When he was five, he undertook the piano studies with maestro Alessandro Bares. Two years later he was admitted at the Conservatorio of Como, in the class of maestro Roberto Stefanoni. He then got a diploma in Piano (2015) and Organ (2017), respectively with maestro Ugo Federico and Enrico Viccardi. In 2017 he was awarded the Prize “Franz e Maria Terraneo” for the best graduate from the Como area of the academic year 2015-2016, organized by the Associazione Giosuè Carducci of Como. In 2019 he obtained the Master of Arts in Music Performance in Organ music at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, guided by maestro Stefano Molardi. At the same institute and with the same teacher he obtained, in 2021, the Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance, a master reserved for selected students who plan to pursue a solo career. He took part in masterclasses with Jean Claude Zehnder, Ludger Lohmann, Enrico Viccardi, Giancarlo Parodi, Stefano Molardi, Stefano Rattini, Andreas Liebig, Maurizio Croci. He is completing a post-formation course in Harpsichord at the Conservatorio of Lugano.
He has made recordings on historical organs in the provinces of Como and Sondrio. He has realized, for Torculus Records, a Renaissance Christmas music CD, playing the regal organ with the ensemble La Chambre du Roy René. He performed the inaugural concerts following the restorations of the historical organ in the Musei Civici of Como in 2014, of the Alchisio organ in Caino di Vercana (CO) in 2016, of the organ in San Gottardo Church in Dongo (CO) in 2022. In 2019 performed the inaugural concerts following the relocations of the organs in Grancia and Avegno di Fuori. He is co-hautor of the book “Organi. Arte e musica nelle antiche chiese della Valle Intelvi” (2013), accompanied by a CD with his recordings. He has been intensely active on the concert circuit. He performed in numerous occasions on the organ, on the piano and on the harpsichord, in Italy and abroad (Spain, England, France, Germany, Switzerland). In 2021 he played as a soloist with the Orchestra del Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, performing two concertos for organ and orchestra by Haendel, under the direction of Lorenzo Ghielmi. He collaborated with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, I Barocchisti, the Choir of the RSI and other institutions in the international music panorama. In 2019 he was awarded the second prize at the prestigious “Gottfried Silbermann Orgelwettbewerb” in Freiberg (Germany). He was awarded in other piano, chamber-music, organ competitions, including the Grand Prize Virtuoso in London (2019), the “Fiorella Benetti Brazzale” competition in Vicenza (2019) and the “Organi storici del Basso Friuli” competition (2021).
Live recordings of some of his concerts were broadcasted by the Radiotelevisione Svizzera Italiana. He is the Artistic Director of the Rassegna Organistica Altolariana and of the “Giovani Musicisti in Leventina” festival. He is a member of the ROSI committee (Rassegna Organistica della Svizzera Italiana).
He is Hauptorganist at the catholic church of S. Maria Magdalena in Alpnach (Obwalden, CH).
The International Organ Competition for the Wiesbaden Bach-Prize is held since 1977 every other year in connection with the Wiesbaden Bach Festival (Wiesbadener Bachwochen) in Wiesbaden/Germany.
